Welcome to Japan! Students will be immersed in the beautiful art and inspiring culture of Japan, learning about both ancient art-making practices as well as modern animation and cartooning. We will capture beauty and simplicity in landscape painting, create a 3-dimensional koi pond, and make something inspired by Japanese cuisine, too: think Mochi, Boba Tea, and Sushi! Say “Kon'nichiwa” to a super fun and creative Mini Series! Expect 3-4 projects, ready to take home as a personal portfolio on the last day of class.
Learning: Art History & Culture, Anime and Kawaii Styles, 3D modeling & Sculpture, Watercolor Painting Techniques, Landscape Painting, Color Theory, Brush Control & Blending, Shading & Values, Composition, Paper Art & Notan, Character Design, Contemporary Art
Registration is for the entire mini-session of classes (5 weeks), not a single class. Art projects will not be included in the Student Art Show, as the class ends before Thanksgiving break. Program is nonrefundable. See "Policies" on our website for more details.
