Description

Intro to Art

Our youngest students will experience a variety of art-making and learn foundational art techniques: color-mixing with paint, drawing using shapes and symmetry, and creating with 3D materials. They will learn the basics of composition, and will be exposed to various art styles and often the works of well-known artists. A great way to step into structured art education; each project is instructor-led with specific goals and skills set for each exciting project! Students will complete a new artwork every 1-2 weeks. All artwork will be ready to take home as a portfolio at the end of the session. Parents are not expected to stay during class time. For student artwork to be included in the Student Art Show in December, student must be enrolled in "Intro to Art: Session B".

NEW & DIFFERENT PROJECTS from previous classes or camps (Session A will have different projects than Session B). We strive to offer unique art projects from session to session, allowing students to continue with a program, such as “Intro to Art”, without repeating the same project from a different session.

Learning: Drawing & Painting Basics, Color Theory, Brush Control & Blending, Composition, Shape Mapping, Texture, Basic Sculpture, Intro to Weaving, Intro to Printmaking, Realism & Art History
